Little Bird Organics- Auckland, New Zealand

I went for lunch the other day with my Auntie to Little Bird Organics, a raw cafe located in Kinsgland in Auckland, New Zealand.

The raw cafe is super cute & I have seen their products around in some gourmet supermarkets including their grawnola, cereals, crackers & macaroons so thought it was about time I went there and tried it out.

Their 'unbakery' (so cute!) has all different types of raw treaties- macaroons, cheesecakes, cakes, biscuits, tarts, lava cakes, lemon slice, coconut cacao logs, ginger tarts. They also just use agave which I love as sometimes I find places are raw or organic but then just overcompensate with using organic white flour or organic white sugar which for me, really defeats the purpose.

I have heard from a few different people how amazing their cheesecakes were and after trying them, they are nothing short of amazing. I overheard the lady working at the cafe mention they are made up of a seed/nut base with the silky cream filling made from cashews, agave & coconut rind. I would love to give this a try at home because the smooth texture & richness was out of this world.

I had the Savoy Thai Wrap- a mix of asian vegetables, fresh mango, cashew & herbs wrapped in a savoy leaf wrap which was served with shitake & carrot salad while my auntie had the Avocado & lox sushi which came with cashew & cream cheese, cucumber & alfafa with a miso broth. She also had a 'Flu Fighting Formula' tonic which contains turmeric, ginger, lemon, lime, tangelo, mandarin, oregano oil, cayenne & colloidal silver.

It's so funny seeing colloidal silver on the menu somewhere because when I was younger I remember my Grandma swearing it was the best syrem & healer for anything. Being an obnoxious and partially oblivious child I thought "yeah cool, sure thing" but now it turns out I am so interested in colloidal silver & its medical uses!

The desserts at Little Bird Organics are incredible (I had the blueberry cheesecake and my Auntie had the cacao cheesecake) & if you are in the Auckland area- I highly recommend checking out Little Bird Organics & their unbakery!

They live at 385 New North Road, Kingsland
